Four FPs and allied health
The Immigrant Service Society of BC Welcome Centre is a regional service hub which provides transitional housing for refugee populations, as well as targeted services for newcomers to Canada all under one roof. The Welcome Centre Clinic provides primary health care to the refugee and immigrant populations in Metro Vancouver, as well as to other members of the community. Currently servicing the clinic are four FPs and allied health including nurses, a counsellor, and a psychologist. They have five exam rooms, and each physician is responsible for their own on call patients if they are permanent. The clinic is open to physicians interested in working locum shifts or joining as an associate. Translation services are available, but it would be an asset to be able speak a second language such as Arabic, French, Spanish, or Punjabi. The clinic is easily accessed on transit and employee parking is limited, but an arrangement can be made with a neighbouring church. EMR: Profile (Intrahealth)
