UBC Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) in PCN 4 open to the public
The new UBC Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) on the west side of Vancouver, operated by Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), opened to the public on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
The facility at 6165 Agronomy Rd offers year-round, seven-day a week access to urgent, and episodic primary care. Hours of operation are 8:00am – 10:00pm Monday to Saturday, and 9:00am to 5:00pm on Sundays.
The UPCC will provide same day care for urgent and non-life-threatening health concerns. Patients who require medical attention within 12 to 24 hours can receive care at any UPCC in Vancouver. Visit the VCH UBC Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) webpage for more information on the types of conditions UPCCs provide care for.
The site offers patients with a valid requisition the option to book an X-ray appointment in advance through a new booking tool: WaitWell. Walk-in access and urgent imaging remain available.
The space also reflects the VCH commitment to cultural safety and connection to place. Indigenous artwork murals by Musqueam artist Gracielene Ulu reflect the connection between nature, traditions and the land, honoring both the past and present of Musqueam territory. Musqueam Elder Alec Dan, Gracielene Ulu and family members from Musqueam Nation led an art unveiling ceremony which included a traditional welcome, singing, cedar brushing and a Musqueam blanket ceremony, followed by a ribbon cutting.
The VCH UPCCs partner with the Vancouver Division Patient Attachment Initiative (PAI), a referral-based program that helps unattached patients with higher or more complex needs living in Vancouver to find a primary care provider. PAI work with referral partners within acute, outpatient, inpatient, and specialty services to communicate complications or concerns with patients referred. Family Physicians and Nurse Practitioners in Vancouver can then work with PAI to match and attach patients in need of continuity of care for their primary care needs.
