Santé Ouest Community Health Center (CHC) officially opened in PCN 4 in November 2024 - a first for Vancouver’s Francophone population and a milestone in health equity and access to care in French.
The community health center serves the great Vancouver Francophones of all ages, including newcomers, refugees, families, seniors, and individuals with complex medical and social needs. Many patients face challenges due to language or cultural barriers, and Santé Ouest ensures they receive linguistically appropriate care. In addition to medical care, they provide social work and counseling services.
"Our community is incredibly diverse, composed of individuals and families from various regions of the world. Despite language and access barriers, they are deeply committed to their health and well-being. We are proud to serve a community that values connection, dignity, and cultural belonging."
Santé Ouest is not just a community health center — it is the result of the francophone community’s longstanding vision and perseverance. The clinic works closely with community and health system partners to advocate for sustainable and equitable healthcare services.
