Do you feel rested? For us family doctors balancing busy practices, personal lives and numerous demands, the answer may be “not enough.” We face many barriers to resting, including conditioning from our medical training and broader societal culture which values hyper-productivity. This can lead us to physical, mental and emotional depletion at times.
In this session we will explore why rest is essential (as a basic human need and far beyond), barriers to rest (and strategies to address them), the types of rest available to us and practical tools to bring rest deeper into our daily lives.
You will be guided through a yoga practice (about 30-45 minutes of gentle, accessible body movement and breathing). Afterwards, we will enjoy dinner and learn some theory about rest. There will be time for discussion if you feel called to share.
If you are interested, please *sign up here* for an evening of rest and learning together in community.
