I am so grateful to be working in an office supported by the Primary Care Network. From the beginning, I knew the additional resources and professionals would benefit my patients.

What I did not anticipate, however, were the long-term benefits to my own professional satisfaction. Working alongside an RN has brought exponential enjoyment to my work as a family doctor.

Being part of this sort of team allows me to focus more on my strengths as a family physician. My time feels better valued, and I can direct my energy toward skills that reflect my professional training.

I particularly enjoy the daily collaboration with the RN — reviewing complex elderly patients, developing action plans together, and sharing responsibility for follow-up care. This teamwork enables me to provide more comprehensive care, whether that means supporting patients through acute illness or improving preventive care such as diabetes management and colon cancer screening.

An unexpected but welcome outcome has been a marked improvement in my own professional well-being. I feel more supported, more effective, and more satisfied in my work. My patients appreciate the time and access to comprehensive care, and I feel that I am delivering a higher-quality of medicine. Ultimately, working within a Primary Care Network has not only enhanced patient outcomes but has also reduced my own risk of burnout.
