Allows for flexibility in your schedule – supplementing other family practice work with a LTC locum adds variety to your workday

Job Specifics

The Vancouver Division of Family Practice LTCI enables physicians who work in long term care and commit to the LTCI Locum Agreement to receive additional funding. Physicians will form part of a supportive physician community that work toward maintaining the five best practice expectations including: regular proactive visits; on-site medication reviews; attendance at care conferences; involvement in 24/7 on call; and completed documentation in charts.

Remuneration: LTCI care home panels are remunerated through the LFP model or fee-for-service. Physicians who join the LTCI receive payments for:

Participation in the after-hours care program (for locums +6 months): $1,000 for weekday shifts (5pm to 8am Monday to Thursday) and $1,400 for weekend shifts (5pm Friday to 8am Monday)
Sessional payments for participation in mentorship activities, events, and quality improvement projects

St. Vincent’s Langara is a 193-bed long term care home currently being supported by five Long Term Care Initiative (LTCI) practitioners. One practitioner is looking for locum cover from March 3, 2025 to May 2, 2025 (dates are flexible). Practitioners must have, or be willing to obtain, PHC privileges and credentials to work at this care home.
