Featured Service – Mount St. Joseph’s Hospital
Located in the heart of PCN 5, Mount Saint Joseph Hospital offers emergency services, acute care, ambulatory care services and a full range of diagnostic services.
The hospital opened its doors in 1946 with the support of the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception – the first missionary congregation for women in Canada. In Vancouver, a total of 173 Sisters have served through health care, education, parish work and family counselling. You can read more about the history of the hospital here.
Today, Mount St. Joseph is a 240-bed acute and extended care facility with an international reputation for excellence in providing for the needs of multi-faith and multi-ethnic communities. The hospital was founded on the principles of a
daptability and responsiveness to ever-changing community needs. The hospital has become a leading voice in the development of public education sessions for ethnic communities, and has taken a leadership role in hosting multicultural health conferences.
The Emergency Department at Mount Saint Joseph Hospital is open from 8:00am to 8:00pm daily and offers a full range of services to local residents of all ages.
