Requests for Division Engagement
Introduction
The Vancouver Division receives many requests to share information or engage the membership via our communications channels. These requests vary widely. The Vancouver Division is committed to reviewing each request independently, utilizing this consultation policy to guide all reviews.
Our platforms include:
Priority is given to requests that are in line with the Division’s Strategic Priorities:
- Improve family doctor wellness and resilience.
- Support members across the career continuum of family medicine, which includes different payment models, stages of their career, and practice settings and roles.
- Offer opportunities for family doctor engagement and representation in partner organizations and the healthcare system.
- Increase appropriate access for patients to quality primary care. Our priority is to promote patient resources that are accessible and no-cost or low-cost.
- Engage patient perspectives in healthcare projects and improvement.
- Support the work and implementation of Primary Care Networks (PCNs).
- Improve relationships between family physicians and practices (PMHs), other primary care providers, specialists, and allied health to optimize continuity of care.
- Build upon existing collaborative relationships with partners including VCH, PHC, PHSA, Divisions BC, and other community partners.
- Use information technology, evaluation, or data-driven processes as systems enablers to improve primary care.
While the Vancouver Division is committed to educating and informing our membership about events/opportunities in primary care, we cannot guarantee access to our membership. Each request will be independently reviewed in a timely fashion.
Please note that we cannot promote services offered by individual clinics or businesses, and requests that are sponsored by pharmaceutical, industry, or commercial funding.
In order to review your proposal and mobilize our resources, we kindly ask that you provide at least 4 weeks advance notice before the start of your request/initiative.
