A Panel & Workshop on Building Respectful, Inclusive Work Cultures
How do we talk to youth about vaping in a way that feels supportive, non-judgmental, and actually effective? Join the Vancouver Local Action Team and QuitNow for a 1-hour lunchtime learning session focused on practical strategies for supporting youth who vape or who may be at risk of starting.
In this session, we’ll explore:
• What drives youth vaping
• How to assess readiness to change
• How to open conversations that encourage curiosity rather than resistance
• The foundations of motivational interviewing
• QuitNow’s youth-focused tools and resources
• Prevention materials and current public health campaigns (including Health Canada initiatives)
This session is designed for:
Family physicians, MOAs, nurses, youth workers, educators, mental health clinicians, parents, and anyone who supports young people in their health journeys.
Remuneration is offered at the current JCC sessional rate.
